This is the second recording as a leader of drummer/composer from Costa Rica, Rodolfo Zuniga. Rodolfo has been living in Miami, FL since 1999. He is one of the most in demand sidemen in Miami who has performed with artists such as: Benny Golson, Robin Eubanks, Terrell Stafford, Dave Stryker, Shelly Berg Jonathan Kreisberg, Ira Sullivan, Martin Bejerano, Gary Campbell, John Fedchock, Silvano Monasterios, Slide Hampton and Fred Wesley to name a few. He is also a busy educator in south florida where he teaches jazz drums and jazz history at Florida International University, MIami-Dade Community College and Broward College. " Surfaces " was recorded in Miami on February 24th and 25th , 2010 and it features a stellar and energetic band of some miami based musicians; Dave Fernandez on Tenor and Soprano Saxophone, Clay Perry on Fender Rhodes, and Eric England on Double Bass.
