City Shuffle is the 3rd ep by Wbeeza. Following his Heavy Stuff ep in April 2008 (3EEP-096) and New Skank ep in January 2009, this ep confirms Wbeeza as a major new talent in dance music, covering a wide spectrum of grooves and vibes. This is the House Sound Of London. The opening track Candle Groove takes the breath away as it sets the standard for the ep. In truth this is Jazz. The track has many elements played and recorded live on the fly with no preparation or calculation, just pure inspiration and improvisation. The result however is a pure groove full of driving rhythms and heavenly vibe. A great dance track for the purists and those who are only interested in being moved to dance. The A2 track, A116, is a full-on party tune to get the hands in the air and the dancefloor jumping. Heavy filtered acid lines and a driving kick drum are manipulated with skill and panache to drive the dancers crazy. The opening track on side B is an excerise in buildig a track from killer loops. There are really only two loops in this track, but they are so good that nothing else is needed and anything else reduces the impact and the effect of the track. A track to get lost in. The final track, All Those Beats is full of delicious synth lines over a deep grooving track with a great vocal repeasted through the track. A classic ep not only for dancing but also for listening.
