Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Nakz is a reggae/acoustic singer songwriter. Growing up on an island he was exposed to a bunch of great music such as Bob Marley, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Fleetwood Mac, Luther Vandross, Lauryn Hill, Journey, The Police, and Jimmy Cliff to name a few. During sophomore year in high school music starting to take over. From learning the ukulele transitioned into playing the guitar and finally writing original songs. It was not until 6 years later the music journey would re-ignite. Due to so many music influences reggae is only one aspect of Nakz music there are also hints of soul, r&b, and pop. The goal of Nakz music is to move the listener away from whatever it is they are trying to escape from a feeling, the world, a horrible day. Anything to make one smile.
