Hailing from the Midwest and led by former Heavy Step member Todd Roth, Unlikely Alibi put forth an intensely creative and highly developed sound. Elements of traditional ska, 2-tone, third wave, reggae and rock and are fused together in an exceptionally intelligent and thoughtful pop-rock framework. The new 6 track EP “Unlikely Alibi: Live at The Mill” truly captures the essence of Unlikely Alibi’s high energy live show, and brings to mind the best work of The Clash, Madness, The Specials and Elvis Costello, with a traditional, yet modern twist. “Live at The Mill” was recorded at one of Unlikely Alibi’s favorite hometown stomps, The Gin Mill Lounge, and features music from the band’s upcoming full length studio album (a follow up to their successful debut album “At the Ready” released by Stubborn Records). The entire Unlikely Alibi crew was in-house for this very special performance; including guest horn players, vocalists and MC's. The tape was left rolling all night to capture the magic.
