We were incredibly lucky to grow up together and become friends long before we decided to form a band. Too many bands these days only have music in common and so when that connection changes, bands breakup and the members go different ways. Fortunately, we all hung out years before during high school in Salt Lake City rock-climbing, skiing, and babe cruising. In college, as we saw each other less we decided to start “mallows night” which was the title for congregating at Joey’s house every Tuesday evening, and roasting marshmallows as we sat around the fire with instruments playing our favorite songs. All of us had pretty extensive musical backgrounds and similar tastes, and before long a lot of people came every Tuesday to hear us play in a cramped little smoked out pit under the bridge that leads to the front door of the house. We don’t remember the exact moment or who said it, but someone suggested that we really take the idea of forming a band seriously and Argyle was born. We are amazed how fast things have been moving for us. Nine months ago we recorded our first EP and had our first live performance in a little coffee shop. Since then, with the help of an incredible producer we have recorded an amazing first album, played shows all over ranging from bars, college campuses, art festivals, state fairs, and introduced our music in countries all over the world.
