简介
Lance Keltner Lance Keltner began playing guitar at age 10. By the age of 12 he was Rocking the bar scene in Oklahoma and Texas to packed houses fronting his own band. There was never any doubt that Lance would pursue a career in Rock-n-Roll. At age 19 Keltner moved to Austin Texas where he quickly became an important part of the then burgeoning rock scene. Keltner had grown up on the blues, but was now transmitting those blues riffs he had learned as a young boy through several 100 watt Marshall Stacks, opening shows for everyone from Joe Satriani, to Eric Johnson, and the Allman Brothers. In 1991 Keltner signed a recording contract with East/West Atlantic records. Lance released one critically acclaimed disk on East West. Lance spent the better part of the 1990's touring with his own band around the Southwest United States, as well as serving as a hired gun for Tim Karr (EMI Records) and Phillip Lewis of LA GUNS. Most of the 90's were spent on a bus, or on the stage. Keltner signed with Provogue records in 1999 and released "Empty V" a collection of blues rock influenced gems produced by legend Andy Johns. Andy, as you all probably know, worked with everyone from Led Zeppelin, to Bad Company, and Van Halen. Ian "Mac" McClagan of Faces fame added keyboards to the record. Keltner and band toured Europe extensively throughout 1999 to 2003 supporting two more solo releases, one on Provogue and the other on Ulftone/Edel. Keltner and band headlined festivals across Europe to crowds as large as 60,000. Keltner worked with Rod Stewart as guitarist in the "I Can't Deny It Video". In 2003 Keltner joined forces with long time friends Carmine Rojas of David Bowie and Rod Stewart's band, and Tal Bergman who has toured as the drummer with Simple Minds, Terrence Trent D'Arby and many others. The three formed a new group called SIMRANKING. The group melds the sounds of Delta Blues and World music for a sound that is all together unique. Lance has done extensive session work with producers Andy Johns, David Prater, and Jim Gaines. Keltner opened his own record label in 2005 called Textone Records Inc. with Major distribution in Europe to help other Texas Artist get the exposure that they deserve in the region. The label has signed and released Austin based band Grady, and is preparing for 3 other releases by years end. Lance and Band have been writing, recording and touring having released a new live disk “Lance Keltner Live from Austin Texas” and are planning another tour for the spring of 2009. Keltner relies on Divided by 13 amplifiers, 3 Monkeys amplifiers, HENMAN BEVILACQUA guitars, PRS guitars, vintage Esquires and an array of effects to craft his guitar tones.
