The original Rock symphony / Opera-Ballet drama “Pietro e Lucia”, created by the Slovak renaissance artist Dusan Rapos, is a story of a destined love of a young couple from Paris. It is based on the famous novel „Pierre et Luce“, of the French author Romain Rolland, awarded the Nobel prize in Literature. The world premiere occurred on the 2nd of December 2010 in Prague, in the “Tesla Arena”, in front of more than 6000 viewers, that acknowledged the work and performances of the artists, from seven European countries, with a long lasting, standing ovation. This anti-war piece is meant for the whole family and it is an appeal for our return to God of good in a man. 2CD “Pietro e Lucia” is a rarity due to the fact, that the arias were sung by the top Italian opera soloists like, Gianluca Terranova, Rosella Ruini, Tiziana Carraro, Paolo Pecchioli, Gianfranco Montresor and Thiago Arancam, led by the top European conductor Marcello Rota. The music was recorded by the renowned “The Czech Natiaonal Symphony Orchestra Prague” and the choir parts were sung by the multi awarded “The Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno”. The invitation to participate in the rock section was accepted by musicians from Germany, Slovakia and Great Britain, together with the lead guitarist James Nisbet from London and a base guitarist Lars Lehman from Hannover. The author of the music is a renowned Slovak composer, film director, dramatist and a screenwriter Dusan Rapos, whose music style is unmistakably original. Until now, he was known mainly as an author of film music. The lyrics of the arias were written by his wife a poet and a very popular Czech actress Eva Vejmelkova. The producer of the work is Jan Majersky.
