简介
Christine Campbell seeks to serve the greater whole with her music. She is a dedicated performer, educator, writer and composer. Christine is a committed environmental and activist, an award winning composer and recording artist. Her music has been used to raise awareness for the homeless, elderly and environment. She seeks to create bridges between people and their inner and outer world. Christine allows her deep immersion and passion for the natural world to speak through her music. "Forgotten Songs" takes its name from an experience she had on a personal Vision Quest in the Vermont Wilderness in 2002. Already deeply immersed in the language of the Wild, Christine came back with a deeper understanding of how that World - the creatures and land are always speaking to us. She realized with more than a little sadness that there is a language that is slowly dying and songs that are being forgotten. This CD is a blend of folk, pop and contemporary stylings. Starting with a contemporary salute to the Dawn and Sky above, it makes its way to a very folk oriented "Thanksgiving " to the Earth and all her creatures. In the middle of the CD you will find the very compelling "Heyawana's Song" - a song which came directly from the Vision Quest and her experience with a Wolf and Wolf Spirit which had been silenced by a gun. This song is a striking call "for us all to use our voices on behalf of those who have been silenced." "Heyawana's Song" is also the title and title track of a community drumming CD - "Heyawana's Song". The story of Heyawana is the inspriation for Christine's latest offering "Journeys of the Wolf" - a very different musical offering. This CD also features a number with a community choir and also several children. Christine is passionate about education and wanted her students to have a real experience of making music in a studio. "Forgotten Songs" is an offering to all who would wish to walk more fully the Path of Heart on Earth.
