The R&B singing group TODAY came on the music scene in 1988 as one of the major groups of the new jack swing era. The group consisted of four members (Chief) Larry Singletary, (Love) Larry McCain, (Bub) Fredrick Drakeford, and (Wes) Wesley Adams. Produced by Teddy Reily, songs like Him or Me, Girl I Got My Eyes on you, Take your Time, and Your Loves not true to name a few from the first album. The second album The New Formula was released in 1990 and included the songs Why you getting funky on me, and I Got the Feeling. Shortly after the release of this album the group started encountering troubles. As a group we enjoyed touring and singing together but the business side of it was more than we were prepared for, and it eventually lead to the group breaking up like so many other good groups before us. After 20 plus years who would have thought that the original members of the group TODAY Chief, Love, Wes, and Bub would reunite and go back in the studio creating music again. In short this is how it happened. As we watched how the times have changed and the love of many have waxed cold, the world’s youth and adults going astray we decided to lend our voices to bring the consciousness of the HolySpirit to all letting them know there’s hope in JESUS CHRIST our LORD!
