"Alone at the Table" is Damsel in the Dollhouse's third album. A year in the making, it brings together a myriad of musical styles including darkwave, gothic, industrial, and EBM. The mood is akin to an asylum filled with dark rooms, echoing corridors, and the troubled characters who dwell within. Themes of death, disease, heartbreak, senility, and mental illness are present throughout and lead the listener on a strange aural journey. Dancing is encouraged, but feel free to cry in a corner if the need should arise. There are thirteen tracks in all including three remixes. The original versions of "Through the Cracks" and "Distraction" can be found on "Dream Eternal". The original version of "Pretty Constriction" was written specifically for a modern dance performance and has not been officially released. A remixed version of "From Beneath You" is available on the Scolex Recordings compilation album "Order of the Scolex".

The title "Alone at the Table" has two visual meanings...one reflects the terror of being alone on an operating table just before going under the knife. The other is that awkward moment when you find that you are the last person still eating at the dinner as all of your family members have finished their meals and cleared their plates.
