简介

'Counting Stars' by One Republic Written By Ryan Tedder Published By Midnite Miracle Music 'Counting Stars' cover by Laurie Levine & Josie Field Produced by Barry Berk Recorded and Mixed at Liquid Crayon Studio Johannesburg Mastered by Kelsey West Mastering Laurie Levine & Josie Field ‘Side By Side’ The blues infused vocal-rock of Josie Field (Best Female South African Music Award Nominee 2012) connects with the intimate folk, country styles of Laurie Levine (Best Produced Album ‘Six Winters’ South African Music Award Winner 2012) to create a unique and intimate musical experience. After 16 years experience, nine albums and a dozen SAMA nominations between them. After three national tours together and now dubbed the ‘Collaboration of the Year’, these two Johannesburg based singer songwriters come together in their folksy indie collaborative side project, 'Side By Side'. July 2014 saw ‘Side By Side’ receive a Standard Bank Ovation Award at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown, South Africa. A real treat for music lovers these performances are solely acoustic utilizing a variety of instruments including guitar, banjo, ukulele and more along with their unique vocal harmonies, as they present slightly different interpretations of their most popular songs, allowing both old and new fans to experience the material in a whole new light. The Side By Side album, recorded by Barry Berk in 2013 is their first recording together. Stripped down and intimate, the songs capture the essence of their live show and highlights their vocal differences which, when combined, are hauntingly beautiful. “The audience is enraptured by the angelic beauty coming from the stage. And, surprise, surprise, their voices are finely tuned to each other. This is world class, goose-bump material … I have discovered something wondrous.” Therese Owen, IOL Tonight. “In a music-industry dominated by vapid celebrity hype and cheap sensationalist tactics, this tour is brilliant in its ability to showcase two consummate artists, who though at the top of their game, lack pretension or ego” Alice Meyer, What’s on in Cape Town.
