James LaRocca is from Portland Oregon and started playing guitar at the age of 9. He taught guitar at Beaverton Music and Portland music. At age 22, he left Oregon to study music at the University of North Texas. James received a degree in Music Theory/Composition/Performance. He played professionally in the Dallas area and then returned to Oregon in 1997. His first solo CD "A Different Road" came out in 2001 and has had great success. Here the tunes at www.jameslaroccaproject.com Then he spent 18 months putting the band FRANKIE ANGEL together. Singer, Joelle Verhoeven, worked in a local restaurant where James lives. Pianist, Jonathan Swansen, owns the recording studio where James completed his first album and now the three of them are FRANKIE ANGEL.
