简介
These songs are a culmination of years of differing experiences throughout the life of Robert Gould (with the exception of "I Know" which was a poem written by a family member put to music by Robert). The title of this album is perceived however the listener desires. The music on this album runs high with intensity, emotion and playfulness. These songs are written from a standpoint of faith in God in Robert's life. Some of the songs have been tugging at the hearts of listeners. All instrumentation and vocal parts were performed by Robert and all of the production and editing was his work as well. Raised Up There were a lot of years in my life where I just had to do things my own way. Even though I knew that God loves us through thick and thin, I abused that love at times and I kept finding that no matter how far I fell, He raised me up. Man Of God This is a statement of who I have always wanted to be, who God wants me to be and who I continually strive to be. Waiting On The Lord Every day brings the possibility that the Lord will return and this is a statement of how that can happen "with the suddenness of a popped balloon" no matter what kind of day we are having whether it's good or bad, it's just a matter of time. Stone Of Israel I discovered that Jeremiah called God the "Stone of Israel" (Gen. 49:24) and upon learning that, I was inspired to look up the attributes of God. I was blessed that God gave me a melody and thus, gave me this song. The Watering Hole I thought it would be great to write a song about getting baptized in the old gospel style of music, and that it would be memorable enough that people would want to sing it like an old hymn. I couldn't help myself but to have some fun with the electric guitar part on it too. I Know My (great) aunt Shirley wrote poems unbeknownst to me and this poem was reprinted on her funeral program when she passed away in 2014. She had written the poem in 1970 after her first husband uncle Alton Scott passed away. The Lord gave me a sweet melody one night and this song fell together quite quickly. Waiting With The Angels My father (Therl William Gould) passed away at the young age of 22 due to a logging accident and at the time, My brother Therl (Butch) was almost 4, I was 16 months old and my mother was pregnant with my sister Susan. This song is to our father and is my statement that I know he is in Heaven and that God promises us a reunion there. The World To Me There is nothing more important to me than the Lord and my wife JoAnn. Both are great inspirations for me to be the best steward of what I have, and to be a blessing to both. I could never live without God in my life and I would be miserable without Him and JoAnn. I am truly blessed. I Will Not Fear This is taken from Psalm 46 and it really speaks to me about the powers of God and how He is our refuge and we need not have fear in our lives. Not Alone A basic instrumental acoustic guitar piece that I felt would be a good ending for this album with its simple melodies and mellow mood. Even when we are by ourselves, God is always there.
