简介
So what type of artist is Johny Dey? Over the years he has been part of a glam band with members of Skid Row prior to their success, a punk band who found support from McGhee Entertainment, Geffen and Atlantic records, gospel recordings with church choirs and straight ahead rock and roll projects. "Johny Dey is one of the most versatile guitar players I have had the pleasure of playing with. Gospel to Metal and Blues to Punk, JD can handle it all with a true, natural feel that comes from his vast knowledge and love of music." (Rachel Bolan, Skid Row) "John is truly talented... bass and guitar, in studio and out." (Jonathan Ford, choir director and gospel music producer) In 2005 he joined Frankenstein 3000 who was and is a well established staple in the tri-state original scene."I loved being a part of F3K and still consider myself part of that family! Live shows were such a blast!" "I've worked and known Johny for many years; recorded many songs, records and done live performances together. All I can say... he is a true professional, a pleasure to be around, reliable and truly talented!" (Keith Roth, musician, radio host, Sirrius Satellite Radio and Electric Ballroom Radio 95.9 The WRAT Sirius Satellite Radio) After scheduling issues forced an end to a full time commitment to Frankenstein 3000, Johny began testing the waters as a solo artist. He recorded several cover songs featured on various tribute releases which received positive feedback. "18 and Life... has a bit of a country blues feel, twanging guitars, wowing and echoing in the background, great stuff Johnny." (Mudkiss Fanzine -Hair Apparent CD review) On those recordings he tapped into the drum talents of F3K's Clint Gascoyne who also played on all the tracks on 'Alone in the Wild.'. "I love playing with Clint; he brings so much more than just a beat to a song." In 2010 he releases his debut CD on Main Man records."It's a journal of where I was at musically and otherwise. Now I can't wait to get out there and play the songs live." Nuff Said!
