简介
Ken Eichler's Crossroads is a modern take on the Robert Johnson classic. However, this version actually takes its cues from the famous live cut by Eric Clapton and Cream. At the ripe age of fourteen, long before he had ever heard of Robert Johnson, Ken had immersed himself in the great guitar music of Eric Clapton, Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter, and Jeff Beck. And one listen to this track reveals just how much Ken's slide guitar style is influenced by the late, great Duane Allman. Crossroads was recorded at Sliding Door Studio in March of 2010 only two weeks prior to the untimely death of lead singer extraordinaire, Kevin "Dr. C" Crutchfield. Dr. C is backed by several of his former Hip Pocket bandmates: Ken Eichler on guitars and bass, Paul Connors on organ and piano, and Vito Luizzi on drums. This was Kevin's last recording and it should be noted that he did it in a single take. RIP, Kevin. You are truly missed.
