简介
What makes a young, aspiring musician choose the life of a gut-wrenching, soul-crushing Jazz singer?? "Because I would keel over and die if I didn't have a voice." Thea's life as a bold and impressive singer is the only path of choice for this up and coming artist. Her career as a sought-after songstress, began in the jazz world after the release of “First Time Out” with the Grant MacEwan/University of Alberta Jazz Band in 2004. This soon landed her a scholarship just outside of Detroit, Michigan at MSU where she studied under the mentorship of Ms. Sunny Wilkinson. Thea’s exciting career has taken her to venues and festivals across North America. Performing with Rodney Whitaker and again with Herbie Hancock at the Detroit Jazz Festival. Performing at Canadian Folk Festivals as well as the highly acclaimed SXSW Festival – Thea has received fantastic reviews and has been embraced by her peers. Recently Thea has joined forces with guitar prodigy Clint Pelletier. Whether they perform as a duo, solo, or together with Hot Club Edmonton, their performance enthralls and delights audiences around the globe. Their 2010 release of Hot Club Edmonton garnered rave reviews and won a WCMA for Instrumental Album of the Year. Their musical education and experience has had them performing with an adverse line up of globally accomplished musicians on International stages, such as the oldest Jazz Club in America (Baker’s Keyboard Lounge), Disneyland, and Good Morning America. Both Thea and Clint received scholarships to two of the States most prestigious music programs, Berkley University in Boston and Michigan State University. The May 2011 release of “Lady and The Tramps” is a showcase of Clint’s gypsy-jazz, flamenco guitar paired with the smoky, rainy-day afternoon voice of Thea. This highly anticipated album is certain to deliver the same recognition as their award-winning album.
