My name is Matt, and this is my newest music. This whole record started out as an idea: What if you could listen to a song and be inspired to an action? What if music could move you not just to emotion, but to examine yourself and walk away changed. With this idea in mind, we began in February of 2007 writing and rewriting over ten songs. Only six survived, and I feel like they are the best songs that I have to offer. The idea behind the album is this: Sleep is a metaphor for life unlived, for living without purpose or beauty. The album is the journey of a person who has begun to wake up and see that life has so much more to offer than the slumber which has been his life until this point.
