The second collaboration between Björn Johansson and Pär Lindh was only credited to Johansson, making it more of a personal album. For ''Discus ursi'' (1998, private) Johansson not only performs his guitar and string instruments, but plays bass, flute and keyboards, helped by Lindh's superb talent on analogue keyboards (plus drums). Johan Forsman and Monika Fors guest as vocalists. While the album still contains some hints of Celtic and folk music, it is actually characterized by a strong Baroque essence and driven by long, dreamy symphonic orchestrations.. Filled with interludes, preludes and everything else making an arrangement close to Classical Music, the album is a magnificent proposal on old-styled Symphonic Rock with Yes and Genesis vibes, featuring emphatic, rich keyboard parts and some very beautiful guitar work, nicely combined with acoustic interludes.Clean and expressive vocals complete the work. A killer Symphonic Rock album with delicate melodies, well-crafted interplays and quite a few amazing keyboard/guitar solos.
