In doing so, has created music that is exciting, meditative and spiritual. Yolanda does it all...the songwriting, the vocals, playing the drums and rattles, even producing the recording. This reveiwer found that it's impossible not to be affected by her lyrics... and get caught up in the beat, the energy and the vitality of ther music. Her songs include tributes to PRAIRIE MOTHER, giver of life, and to SOARING EAGLE, the deliverer of our prayers to the Great Spirit. Further, Yolanda addresses unrequited love in SHAMEFUL LOVE and INKPATA, leadership and direction in SUN DANCER, connection with God in WALKING WITH SPIRIT, and in the final cut, GREAT ONES, a prayer for help to the Creator. Not only do we find great lyrics and meaningful music, we find an artist destined for greatness. Yolanda Martinez, has a beautiful and powerful voice that seems to be directly connected to her heart. She sings with the self-assuredness of a star, because she is one...like those hanging in the New Mexican sky, winking and knowing.
