简介
Becca Godinez is a gifted artist who has performed in concerts, in theatre plays and musicals, has written words and music for herself and other artists, recorded albums, and has traveled to numerous countries to perform. Her ability to speak, write and sing in several languages has contributed to her crossover appeal. She began her professional career singing radio and television jingles while simultaneously stepping on to the legitimate stage. As a result of guest appearances to promote those theatrical performances, she was approached by television executives to co-host a musical variety show, jump starting her career on television. A record deal soon followed and Becca could not have been happier with how her life was taking shape. However, it wasn’t long before she felt ill equipped to deal with the pressures of her chosen career so she traveled to the US to study, where she majored in Theatre Arts and minored in music, both classical and jazz. Returning home, she picked up where she left off and directed theatre productions and was quickly signed to a record company where she released an album from which two songs went gold. She performed in nightclubs and concerts and was simultaneously offered her own weekly television musical show. In the ensuing years, Becca hosted and was a guest in various weekly television shows and specials. A highlight in her career came when she became the opening act for Henry Mancini and the experience sealed her decision to leave the legitimate stage for popular music. WEA Records, HongKong signed her as did Discomate Records, Japan, a sister company to CBS Records, Japan. She traveled that country extensively on a promotional tour and consequently participated in the 10th Tokyo Music Festival where she won two awards for her country. Becca was thrilled to find that her image was used in official posters for that event and the exposure led to two features in Billboard Magazine, USA. As a songwriter, Becca penned songs for her records, wrote the lyrics for her Japanese release, and wrote the theme song for a Miss Young International pageant, which was sung by Bert Parks, official host of this event for many years. She co-wrote songs with Morris Albert of "Feelings" fame. A duet that they co-wrote won first place in an International Song Festival held in Houston besting over 100 participants. After numerous appearances across countries, Becca ached for rest, anonymity and introspection, and turned away from public life. Ever the artist though, she was unable to stay away from her need to create and returned to songwriting. True peace came when she journeyed back to Jesus and her Christian faith, and this is loudly reflected in her songs. Becca spent time happily working with a gifted producer and several industry musicians in Los Angeles. She went back to the studio and co-produced what she believes to be some of her strongest musical work. The result is her CD entitled, “Road to Humble”. Becca traveled to Manila and remained there for three weeks to minister, to give her testimony, and to give praise and honor to our Lord. She visited a military camp, a hospital, several churches and a drug rehabilitation facility, sharing her music and the message of hope in Jesus Christ. She was a guest in several Christian radio and television shows, including an appearance for the Christian television show, 700 Club Asia. Today Becca is beginning work on a sophomore Christian CD. She is an active participant at her church’s music ministry and lends her artistry to various other Christian ministries and events. Later in the year, she will perform in a concert that will feature songs past and new. She is humbled and feels truly blessed that the she is able to walk through new and exciting doors that allow her to serve our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
