With the possibility of including so much variety on one CD, the concept of inviting sixty forward thinking improvisers to all share a sixty second snapshot of their distinctive approach to such a situation was too intriguing a notion to pass up on. The same question was posed to each of the artists: “how would you interpret sixty seconds through a recorded improvisation (solo with no overdubs)”? It was important to include a balance of instruments and musically personalities that could coexist in a dynamic way. A set of solo expressions at their conception that now work together in unison by being grouped into clusters. The format allows an individual voice to become a group conversation, thus creating a new whole. Each artist, without pause generously shared their talents and creativity to the spirit of this compilation. This is an incredibly exciting time to witness such investigative music and to be part of the experience.
