简介

It's 2006. Derrek Jensen has nothing to live for and dies shortly after swallowing a mix of over 80 pills that forms a deadly cocktail. He never wants to wake up again. Fortunately only 3 days later, the troubled youth opened his eyes not just to his situation, but to the universe, and everything changed. He knew he had to document his discoveries and save the world from themselves, no matter how daunting that task seemed. Born a poor white boy in the middle of nowhere didn't make his message less powerful, just harder to hear. The day that Derrek Jensen died gave birth to Statik Gesus who carried only one purpose: to become a light in the darkness and a beacon of hope for the voiceless. Widely known as Statik G or Statik Gesus (previously known as Statik the Godfather), the young turk started his rise from the underground with his first EP in 2007. His music, usually focused on sex, drugs, and his life as a quiet kid living in poverty, was turning heads for his no-fucks-given attitude that laced deeper messages throughout his raunchy lyrics. In 2008, after writing music for 6 years and primarily pushing music online, he was invited to his first live performance by some local figureheads. That performance led to him forming a group that would become known as PRESCRxPTION. The group consisted of Statik G, MC Viruz, BIG Murda, and he later added Biskit to the group. With their unapologetic and in-your-face lyrics, they made some waves in the underground with songs like Overdose, Sex n Drugs, She's Hooked, and America's High that highlighted America's love/hate relationship with prescriptions that were heavily themed using metaphorical subjects which paralleled society's inherent love for drugs and control. For 5 years Statik G and PRESCRxPTION would grind, running WY's hip hop scene until they decided to branch out. Their next step led them to be invited to the Gathering of the Juggalos twice and expanding into Colorado before officially dissolving in 2013. The whole crew began focusing their efforts on their personal lives, jobs, and solo careers, leading them to drift apart while never forgetting the path they paved together. Due to legal troubles, drug problems, and multiple other life issues, Statik G, also known as 'Poppa Pill', left everything behind and moved to Denver, CO. Statik was becoming fatigued with life and the underground hip hop scene, and in his discouragement he started working a normal job again and enrolled in college to be a video game designer. For the first time ever, he was considering putting music on the back burner. However the passion for writing and making music never faded in this short 6 months, and while he worked and went to school, Statik G wrote the entire Slightly Sober album. Where his work in PRESCRxPTION was focused on party-style, anti-society drug music, his solo work took a new direction, one that focused the cycle of addiction and breaking out of the barrier rather than embracing the lifestyle. Unexplainably to this day, Statik ended up puking for 4 months straight, lost his job and was forced out of school before being left homeless in Denver. He was forced to head to WY to restart all over again. He was sure that the universe was sending him a rude awakening, that music was his calling. Statik G entered The Statik Age when he dyed his hair red for the first time since 2009 and revived his solo career with Slightly Sober's release and a slew of underground touring with LSP and Gritty Musick after moving back to Denver, CO. With his success on the road, he saw potential in old friends and started the label that would later become RhymeSick. Statik G was known as a touring machine by now and was signed by LSP as an artist right before releasing The Bad Guy in 2015, his next entry in The Statik Age. The Bad Guy played on the idea that Statik was a good seed raised in bad soil, embracing the idea that a good person can only be called bad for so long before they embrace the role. Next, The Red Devil's debut LSP project would turn heads all over the world. All Out of Normal: Act I dropped in 2016 and cemented his place in the underground. His evolution is rapid and the tormented artist is always refining, and redefining his style. Future projects are flowing in, as well as more shows than ever, and recently he's been headlining tours around the United States. Since then he released All Out of Normal Expansion Pack and is gearing up to release All Out of Normal: Act II before continuing the Statik Age with 'Terrorist', coming 2018. Statik G's not only toured 10+ times, he's booked/managed/starred in several tours, he's headlined multiple national tours and has shared stages from the Gathering of Juggalos to Bone Thugs n Harmony and T-Pain, Lil Wyte to The Game to Baby Bash to Great White, Rittz and Tech N9ne to Violent J and Esham, Hawthorne Heights to Flatlinerz and Twiztid, as well as many others big and small. More recently, Statik G has continued following the Statik Age, preparing All Out of Normal: Act II and Terrorist for their release while creating a booking agency and learning to manage tours as well as his label, cypher series, and more. Statik Gesus is the truth, and nobody can deny his talent, drive, or ability. Welcome to the Statik Age. No stranger to hard work, Statik G is not only focused on RhymeSick as a label and movement and on his hip hop career, but recently created RhymeSick Promotions, RhymeSick's School for the Gifted, and RhymeSick Cypher Series to help young artists and established ones alike get a better footing in the game. Statik G conceived the Red Wyte and Booze tour with Lil Wyte in 2017 as well as The Stay Down Tour with Project Pat with much more to follow. No rest for the wicked, they say.
