简介
Second album of this great Melodic Death Metal band. A perfect mix of speed, technique and melody in twelve amazing pieces. Their best work so far, available through Suspiria Records. The album is produced by Pedro J. Monge and mixed and mastered in Chromaticity Studios. Cover by Gustavo Sazes. Biography: The Descent first saw the light of day during the last few months of 2006, when members from different local bands joined together with the intention of giving shape to a new trash/melodeath project influenced by Swedish bands such as At the gates, Dimension Zero and the Haunted, among others. The original line-up (Carlos, voice; Ander and Antón, guitars; Aitor, drums and Garaio, bass) started to tour around Spain, playing at an endless list of venues in different parts of the country. It was in 2012 that they joined THEROCKSTUDIOS in order to record what would become their first album, Dimensional Matters, under the guidance of Carlos Creator as a producer. This first work received very positive critiques from the specialized press both in their own country and abroad. The presentation of this album gave them the chance to tour the country again and even take part in several festivals. In 2013/14, due to professional reasons, the band's line-up changed and Xabi (guitar), Iñigo (bass, ex-Rise to Fall) and Txamo (drums, Rise to Fall) joined their ranks, which gave birth to a new, powerful and unwavering formation. It was with this new line-up that they finally took the quantum leap and toured the country once again, this time hand in hand with bands as important as Mors Principium Est (FIN) and Izegrim (NL). They also played with Onslaught (UK), Nightrage (Swe), Angelus Apatrida and Hamlet, won the Leioa Pop Rock contest and became finalists in the fourteenth edition of the prestigious Pop Rock Villa de Bilbao encounter. During the last months of 2015, Xabi had to abandon the band due to professional reasons, and Borja "Taj" (ex-Steel Puppets) joined them in his place. While they toured the country, they made ready what would become their second album, under the title "The Coven of Rats" and the direction of Pedro R. Monge (Vhaldemar), which was released at the turn of 2016.
