While learning and growing in intimacy with the Lord at IHOP KC for a season, the Lord began to highlight the necessity for Jerod to change the stance of his heart concerning worship. God had caused his heart focus to shift from ministering unto people - to letting worship flow solely out of a place of ministering unto the Lord! It was during this time that the Lord began to birth the revelation behind the ministry of Zadok within Jerod’s inner man. To understand the ministry of Zadok, one must have a steady grasp on the origin of Zadok: Zadok (meaning righteous, loyal and faithful) was originally King David’s high priest. There is a consistent theme throughout the scriptures that reflects that attribute of his character concerning his continual submissive obedience and faithfulness unto to both God and David. Consider the passage in Chronicles chapter’s 13 thru 15 recounting when David and the Children of Israel had the privilege of recapturing the ark of God. Specifically mentioned in chapter 15 verses 11 and 12, notice that it is Zadok who was given the task of sanctifying himself and handling the ark (him and his brethren) because he had consistently chosen the better part: to minister unto the Lord and not be swayed by the idols of the land. The other Levites were able to minister unto the people but unable to enter into intimate communion with God-this being their punishment for idolatry. All throughout scripture, the descendants of Zadok are referred to as the sons of Zadok and were set apart from the rest of the Levites. That attribute of righteous loyalty unto the Lord continues within his lineage and is illustrated even amongst the breadth of scripture. The Lord declared that for the Zadok priesthood that He (God) himself was their inheritance, their possession, their exceedingly great reward! When Jerod returned to Columbus in 2013, the Lord dealt with him heavily concerning allowing the fruit of his devotion and revelation spent in the IHOPKC prayer room! In the midst of enduring through months of dwelling in the valley of weeping and decisions, all the while being fastened between the oil presses of humility, Jerod wrestled between his vision and God’s vision. In November of 2013 he made the decision to surrender his will unto the Lord and immediately thereafter the music ministry of Zadok was birthed! When Jerod made up in his soul to submit the process into the hands of God, resources began lending themselves in miraculous ways! Believers of whom he had built relationship and labored with and for in the place of worship in the past were brought together and gathered into a spiritual community which could only be formed and knitted by and through the grace, mercy and love of God! Because of their united submission, Zadok has seen the sovereign hand of the Lord begin to change the revelation of praise and worship in America. Many ministers sincerely endeavor to bring the manifest presence of God into a place, but Jerod & Zadok recognize that they are already carriers of His presence. This is the message that they have been graced with as a witness to all who desire to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth: to send forth a clarion call unto the body of Christ (specifically in America) to enter into a covenent form of worship, to choose the better part, to come away from their idols of performance and ultimately to become sons of Zadok - a priesthood of believers who worship only unto the Lord!
