My music is an eclectic blend of styles that have influenced me over the years ... starting with folk, some jazz standards and 50's/60's radio air-play, which included everything from big band to Elvis to country to Sinatra or Ella... we loved watching Mitch Miller and Ed Sullivan on TV ... there were so many styles of music to absorb when I was growing up that it all went in to 'the pot' and steeped ... by the time my sister and I started singing seriously in the 60's, our style was definitley folk (influenced by Kingston Trio, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, Christy Minstrels, Peter Paul and Mary, etc) and then there were the Beatles! so much wonderful music. It's difficult for me to put a label on the style of music I sing, but I'd probably call it acoustic/intimate/accessible ... these days I play with a four-piece band or with just my husband Woody (bassist) ... This current 'album' of original songs is a snapshot of where I am after 40 years of playing for my living ... some insights into what life has taught me, and some 'just fun' tunes ... I love the sentiment of country music and irish music (the ballads) ... some so heart-wrenching, they'll make you cry. I think sometimes that singing is crying in a very positive way! It has been a decade since I recorded my last CD, so it is definitely time to add a new collection of songs. I hope you'll enjoy listening to this as much as I enjoyed recording it!
