Costa Rican group Amethyst are set to take the alternative stage by storm with mixed genre stylings of the metal persuasion. The 5-piece group are bringing their own blend of Metal influenced music to the forefront of new sounds to watch out for in 2017.

Named after the semi-precious stone, the group is titled as such due to the mystical influence and metaphorical hardness of the stone itself, giving indication to the band’s unique sound and feel.

The group was founded in 2015 by Geo Leitón and Elías Vega, who were then joined by Kendal Rodriguez. Fabiola Salas as additionally drafted in to bring distinct and powerful vocals to the forefront of the band’s music. After countless searches in 2015, the band was complete in 2016 with the addition of drummer Juan Carlos Soto (formerly of Fractured Souls).

The groups’ first major track The Timekeeper is currently available to sample on Youtube and promoted across Arise Metal Magazine which has dubbed the band a ‘promising band of Progressive Symphonic Metal’.
