简介
The Wading Girl Delightfully Fun Folk-Pop out of Virginia The Wading Girl are a folk-pop quintet with a sound reminiscent of the early Violent Femmes and The Cure. Beginning as a solo project for singer/guitarist Billy Wallace in the spring of 2003, but evolving into a full, five-piece band by the same autumn, The Wading Girl has had a short but frenzied (in a very good way) existence. During that time they have created a sound that is certainly their own: one that defies a single genre while at the same time maintaining a mature level of consistency. Their Debut album, Based on a True Story, contains pop songs that range from dealing with the failure to connect in both familial and romantic relationships to drunken times of self-realization. Recorded in basements and bedrooms in Springfield and Cincinnati, Ohio, Based on a True Story is just what it says it is: an honest chronicle of life and of love.
