As I pieced them together, lyrics were streaming though my consciousness and I came on some stuff that worked perfectly with the grooves I was sampling. Before I knew it they grew into full songs. My original intention was to make a mix-tape with these song ideas, but as I started laying tracks down with Kyle Jones we found that we could have some fun with recreating the backing tracks with analog synthesizers and live instruments. This gave us the ability to change the vibe of the track to fit even tighter with the vocals, as well as giving us more flexibility with compression and effects in the mixing stage. The end result is “Organic Temples.” I have cited the source of the original inspiration on each track in case anyone wants to follow the blueprint and gain insight into the creative process behind this album.“ –D.M.M.
