简介

We began to call our family gigs Jazz for Little Jumpers as children would jump and dance through the entire set. I wanted to mke a cd for parents and grandparents to take home with them from shows. Something useful for dance-outs together whenever they needed to burn off some energy, or in the car when kids get fidgety feet. Kids ears are becoming more sophisticated. They notice when a voice is altered by technology and when every drum hit sounds the same. So I believe that the human aspect of this recording will reach their tiny ears and hearts as genuine song. I also hope they will recognize the voices of real kids singing behind me because my piano students did some of the backup vocals. My son Tony Mosca helped me produce in the studio. My dad and sister Abbie Gardner also contributed greatly with arrangements and ideas. In my regular life, I play children's concerts at libraries and festivals during the summer and teach piano lessons during the winter. My life is literally filled with music and I am so grateful. I hope you enjoy this recording as much as I enjoyed making it! Here is some information about the awesome musicians in the band. Sarah Gardner - vocalist, guitar, piano (of MusicWithSarah.com kids shows) With a combination of 1930's jazz and love of performing children's concerts her Jazz Pour Le Bebes aims to bring families together with old time music and dixieland style. Sarah grew up going to her father's gigs, began playing in bands in her teens and after having children began performing kids concerts throughout New England. At one concert she started an a ccapella version of "Paper Moon". Seeing the enthusiastic toddlers and grandparents response, the idea for Jazz for Babies was inspired. www.MusicWithSarah.com Herb Gardner - Trombone, Piano and Vocals (My Dad!!) In his star performances of George Gershwin's more whimsical songs of romantic aspiration, Herb Gardner belts out both the words and trombone with saucy syncopations and subtle nuances. Building his distinguished musical pedigree after moving to New York in 1963, Herb Gardner began touring with Wild Bill Davison, Kenny Davern and Dick Wellstood as well as becoming a regular at the Metropole, Jimmy Ryan's and Eddie Condon's nightclubs. During the '60's and 70's he appeared with virtually all of the classic jazz musicians in the New York City area such as Roy Eldridge, Gene Krupa, Henry "Red" Allen, Bobby Hackett, Jimmy Rushing, Doc Cheatham, Max Kaminsky and Wingy Manone. A versatile stalwart of the New York traditional jazz scene, both on trombone and on piano, Herb is admired both as a bandleader and sideman. He currently leads the Stan Rubin Big Band and Tigertown Five Dixieland band in New York City. www-Herb-Gardner.com Ted Casher - Clarinet, Tenor Sax Ted’s tenor sax has the full, rich, deep sound and rhythmic swagger of the great “Texas Tenors” Herschel Evans and Illinois Jacquet — a valued and unique attribute. This contrasts perfectly with his authoritative, limpid clarinet voice. He has played with the Harry James Orchestra, Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestras, The Glenn Miller Orchestra, Ray McKinley's All-Stars, Tony Bennett, Aretha Franklin, John Denver, and The Rhode Island Philharmonic. Ted is very active as a free-lance musician and an educational clinician. Bo Winiker and Bill Winiker: The Boston Globe calls the Winikers "Boston's House Band…" That's because they have played at so many important social, business, and charitable events. Bo plays trumpet and cornet at Skipjack's Jazz brunches when he is not leading the Boston Pops Swing Extravaganzas. Bill brings his energetic style on drums on Sarah's recent Jazz Pour Les Bebes release. For their outstanding and remakable New England history go to www.WinikerMusic.com My sister, Abbie Gardner, graciously did backup vocals for me despite her heavy touring schedule with Red Molly! I am so proud of her and everything she does. If you don't know about her please look her up because you won't be disappointed. Our first CD Jazz Pour Les Bebes won a 2014 Parents' Choice Award and a 2014 CD of the Year from Creative Child Magazine award! Jazz for Lil Jumpers! is a Boston-based family friendly snazzy dance band of characters who brilliantly entertain toddlers and their drivers with dixieland music. Get kids hopping and grandparents swingin' with music from Jazz heroes like Louis Armstrong, Gershwin, Eddie Condon, Benny Goodman, of course Sesame Street favorites! Kids instruments are always at the shows so kids can play along. Have you danced with your baby lately?
