TIMBAH has travelled for a decade sharing music with communities Australia wide. After twelve months and many sweaty moments the band is excited to announce the release of their first studio album. TiMBAH has been described as “Australia's answer to the Dave Matthews band” and “one of the most musically diverse acts in Australia”. The band originated in Toowoomba, Queensland in 2004 by brothers Abe and Nye Stewart playing in pubs around the south east region. Since those days brothers Stewart plus others have created eclectic,energetic folk rock and roots music that they have played through New Zealand, India, Europe, North and South America sharing a passion for music in remote areas of West Queensland through to the Gulf of Carpentaria and across North West Australia. During these trips much music has been played which started to include workshops for all age groups. The guys have developed a range of handmade musical instruments that people can build over a day with very simple materials and simple tools. These include an electric handmade ukulele, a handmade electric guitar, a handmade bass guitar and a handmade cajon (drum). The band includes these workshop programs as part of their touring schedule leaving the cities and towns they visit with a whole bunch of handmade instruments and new enthusiastic people who can build their own instrument and now learn how to play it. These workshops will be part of the band's album release and album tour and people will have an opportunity to build their own handmade instrument before they go to the show.
