In 2012 Laura Clapp will release her first recording in five years, and she wants you to be a part of it. She has already recorded 3 new songs, but she needs your help to produce 7 more. Produced by UK producer Robbie Bronnimann, the first 3 songs were completed in a trans-Atlantic collaboration between Robbie’s UK studio and Laura’s studio in her Ohio home. After countless hours of sculpting and molding Laura’s ideas, the results are stunning. Each nuance captures the mood of the song and the beauty of her voice. Growing up in Connecticut, Laura began her piano studies at age 6 and composed her first song when she was 11. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music where she taught herself the guitar and recorded her first CD, “Where Are You Going?”, she then moved to Nashville for seven years of working in the music industry during the day while performing at night. After writing and recording her second CD, an acoustic release titled “Simply,” she toured America, funded entirely by CD sales and the support of her fans and friends. Laura’s voice has taken her all over the world as backing vocalist for 80’s Synth legend Howard Jones where she found herself onstage in Japan, Europe and Australia as well as the US. As a demonstrator for the Victoria-based TC-Helicon, Laura has been featured on several YouTube videos, some with over 450,000 views to date. Before moving to her current home in Hudson, Ohio where she lives with her husband, Eric Davidson, and their baby daughter, Laura recorded “Leaving Nashvegas,” a live CD featuring her acoustic band: Dave Spak, Tim Denbo and Chris Cottros. It’s been a wild and rewarding ride and Laura has no plans to slow down…she’s just getting started!
