T.E.S.L.A. pt. 1 stands as a testament to never giving up. My OG Tsakane Maubane reached out to me one day and said yo, let's put a project out. I was like, 'Most def'. Now Tsakane is no ordinary head. The older god has been as the cusp of hip hop in South Africa since its birth. His associations range from Cape Town, Eastern Cape, Gauteng and beyond. So with his connections and hip hop knowledge and my rapping and flowing abilities we set out to put something special together. The names of the producers and artists that feature on this project are some of South Africa's foremost hip hop protagonists. They all stepped up and agreed with Tsakane that it was time for the older gods to pass the torch to the next generation. Three years later, alot has progressed and we're finally ready to drop the project. The name of the project was inspired by an artistic evolution I recently underwent. The process reincarnated the artist formerly known as Slege Lee into Dice Mak as he is now known. The evolution is evident in the music as we hear the artist do vocal intonations that we have never heard from him before. The growth is palpable. The reason for naming Slege Lee as an assassin in the title comes from all the championship titles and recognition that the artist won killing MCs locally and across the world. Getting to this stage in the process has been difficult but it has been worth it. If the kingdom of the gods was easy to enter, there would be nothing to be in awe of. This project proves that the torch has been handed to the right artist for the task.
