From the meeting between the newyorker vocalist Dean Bowman and the neapolitan guitarist Giò Cristiano it’s born a beautiful album, “Voodoo Miles”. The title as the cover songs (Jimi Hendrix’s “if 6 was 9”, James Blood Ulmer’s “jazz is teacher and funk is preacher”, Eddie Harris’s “ten minutes to four”) discloses what it’s confirmed by the original songs wrote and performed by the duo. A praise to the most instinctive and cutting edge great black music, scorching and fiery, from the Davisian jazz-rock to the post-Hendrixian rock, with the Bowman’s post-gospel big voice and the Cristiano’s burning guitar. Supported by the Daniele Sepe sax, Angelo Calabrese drums and Giuseppe Arena bass.
