Bumpin’ T started out as a local DJ for functions at the age of 14 years old in 1984. He was self- taught how to mix and scratch and at the age of 15 began to write his own lyrics after being inspired by the artist Too Short. He eventually turned to producing, making original music at the age of 16 after purchasing his own keyboard and drum machine. In 1987 Bumpin’ T produced his first project for Young Dre D, under the tutelage of R&B writer and producer Robert Brookins, who toured and played with Earth Wind and Fire. With local success Bumpin’ T went on to do studio sessions with artist such as: Young Dre D, C-Dubb, San Quinn, M.E.R.K. 1, R.A.N.S.O.M., H-Wood, Triple Beam, B-Smoove, Greedy, Chuck Everlasting, Bowleggs, OG Raw Deal and a host of others. Bumpin’ T also shared the performance stage with the likes of: Color Me Bad, DJ Quick, Jodeci, Robert Brookins, Phillip Bailey, Digital Undergound, Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, MC Breed, Brotha Lynch Hung, Homicide, Marvelous Marva, Rich Tycoon, Dot Goody, Rux Amiliona and many others.
