John Cross was born a long time ago and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Along with boyhood idols like Jimi Hendrix, Clapton, The Beatles, Stones et al, he was given a healthy dose of jazz that obviously influences his playing style. Django Reinhardt was a favorite, as was Tal Farlow, Joe Pass and pre-vocal George Benson. He toured with a 22-piece big band and learned the comp style of Freddie Green, Basie's guitar master. He was turned on to bebop by one of its founders, family friend Dizzy Gillespie.

So, this compilation of original songs is somewhat eclectic; a little r&r, a taste of r&b, some tasty jazz, a hint of c/w and a sense of humor.
