"Minstrelle" is an artistic collaboration between singer Kristina Bijelic and composer Felipe Téllez. It is a concept album comprised of songs in various styles and languages, all of which feature the female voice as the main protagonist and showcase Kristina’s versatility as a singer and Felipe’s artistry as a composer. The pieces reflect many different elements of the musical backgrounds and heritages of both, while centering on the idea of orchestral pop ballads. The title "Minstrelle" is a play on words, referring to the travelling singers of medieval times, but with a feminine ending. Minstrels told stories of far-off places and romantic adventures, which is exactly what we set out to do – to take the listeners on a journey to distant lands and inspire a sense of wonder, through the voice of the “minstrelle.” Is it as much of a journey for us as it is for the listeners – a journey of discovery of our artistic voices through experimentation. Much like the minstrels of old, we have travelled great distances to gather stories to put to music, and our paths have led us to our current destination.
