This Album was not made for your groovy disco party. It is calm, cold, serene and powerful. But this is exactly what Berlin boys like LXBD shall stand for. Their music is carrying on your deep winter feelings on a musical wave to be turned into a hypnotic dance of forgetting. No attempts to compromise were carried out, therefore these guys are slamming out high and low frequencies on an intense level. ‚SEVEN‘ the intro tracks is darkish driving Techno coming in strong on the highs and it’s bell synth. Clear, calm, deep and threatening are the best key words to describe ‚TWELF‘. Although sometimes a glimmer of melody tries to sneak in, is it far fetched from something like melodic techno. ‚FIVE‘ does feel like an uncontrolled over rolling radio signal or transition due to it’s overcharging synths and banging high hats. The fourth piece called ‚FOURTEEN‘ is the only track going into a housy direction but having an intimate and cold groove. ‚EIGHT‘ is simply slow shooting out a concrete dancer. Concrete is the material LXBD is best aligned to. So that ‚SIX‘, which by the way is the only track name matching the track number, is just made for concrete halls or basements because of its cranky claps and space indulged atmospheric synths. ‚TEN‘ is the peaking point of energy the boys are striving for. It is a suction into a harsh alert mode to keep you pushing forward. Eventually you are released from the winter confusion with ‚SEVENTEEN‘, which tells a story of hopeful synth lines to release you into an upcoming spring but in a heavy manner of course. Therefore the winter confusion is coming on Valentines day and makes you mess with your lovely plans.
