简介

Singer/songwriter/guitarist/keyboardist Jeff Clark is one of Austin, Texas’s most beloved hidden jewels. His work with the boogie-flavored progressive rock band Too Smooth should have afforded him an international music career, but instead he remains a cult icon within the city’s rich musical heritage. He’s a master songwriter with a flair for imaginative arrangements and virtuosic instrumentation. Clark’s recently released Just Visiting documents a small portion, but varied cross section of his work from 1974 to the present. "Just Visiting is a stunning career overview" Lorne Behrman "I loved your album! It is the most unpredictable album I've heard in a long time. You just never know what's coming next...This is a great piece of work... Paul the music lover - Indie Music Sampler "While not necessarily billed as a greatest hits package, Just Visiting definitely fills the bill as one. Jeff Clark is the sort of musical talent you want to text your friends about. Or perhaps you're a hipster and want to keep him to yourself. Either way, Just Visiting is an album you'll visit again and again." Wildy Haskell (Wildy's World) "Loving this song right now" (We Can Make It) - Independent Artist Buzz “Just Visiting,” he says… hmmm well it won’t just be a visit, here… Like it or not, Jeff Clark is going to be trapped on my hard drive and Nexus for a long long time. Every tune on this record has an upbeat feel and lyric. As exhausted as I am while I write this, I want to get up and dance! But that’s a sight you don’t want to see. Clark has landed some positive energy on the desk and I have to thank him for it. Then I got to “25 Years Later (Then, Now and Forever)” and I had to stop! I’ve been trying to write this song myself for a year or so… I ran from the studio to the house and dragged the wife out to have a listen to words that I had never been able to speak, we held each other tight and listened twice! Listening to “Man Of Fortune,” and loving the odd-ball sounds he throws in reminds me again of how many of my favorite bands are listed in the bio – bands Clark has shared a stage with, and pickers and singers that show up on the record. It’s hard to believe this cat has been around so long and I’ve never heard of him before. Well, all good things come in time, and this was the perfect time! Wow, do I feel better! Thanks for letting me vent… Now go get you some Jeff Clark. C. Bret Campbell – Middle Tennessee Music "The dozen tunes represent a catchy musical masterpiece echoing America's hey-day of easy listening magnificence...The mix of grungy and gritty guitars with classy folk vocals and Southern spunk make Just Visiting something that will be around for a long time. There is a nice balance of gritty rock with classic American folk fusion that is sure to be a hit with adventurous Southern rock fans everywhere. - Matthew Forss, Indie World Music "Jeff Clark's music is reaching a larger audience. He deserved it years ago and he deserves it now." Rick Koster "As the main voice/songwriter/guitarist behind Too Smooth (not to mention the only original member to last the duration of the band), Clark's journey through Texas rock in the seventies and eighties is a remarkable testament to skill, recalcitrance, faith--and unbelievably bad luck." "Criminally overlooked artist, Jeff Clark / Too Smooth" - Texas Music by Rick Koster "Having shared stages with Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith and Rush with his previous band Too Smooth, singer/songwriter, guitarist and keyboardist Jeff Clark, hidden from the world “is one of Austin, Texas’s most beloved hidden jewels”. His most recent recording Just Visiting is a review of one amazing career". "Full of anthems capable of a dominant stage presence and filling an arena, and tales of love and life, this album written by “impressive resumes” such as Brian Wooten, Danny Swinney, Tommy Taylor, Mark Miller, Don Townsley and Chris Skiles will now easily mix into a night out at your local club or RSL." "Mamie Mama certainly makes me think of Lynyrd Skynyrd, I can honestly see Jeff Clark sharing a stage with these guys..." "Folks, don’t miss your chance to hear this unbelievable album, go and get yourself a copy of Just Visiting today. Jeffrey Metherell indiemunity" 'We Can Make It' "Kicks off with a staccato synth line and a floating hot-air-balloon-race of a chorus..affirmed by driving verses, with Clark's tenor melodically exhorting the power of positive thinking…downright exhilarating!" "I am love, love, loving this song! Thank you! You guys are so talented. I can't wait for the album!" "This song comes from across the decades to both rock and encourage you. Thank you Jeff and the rest of the musicians involved..this song rocks!" "Uplifting! This song was like a prayer to me, after going through some tough times here lately. I needed to hear something like this to remind me that, 'This too shall pass' - and this song was the ticket! If you want to be lifted out of your doldrums, depression, negativity…any kind of darkness..give it a listen. Soon you will be tappin' your toes and remembering that there still is so much good in the world!"
