简介
1.Wild Strawberries: Written in Nashville, early spring when the strawberries appear, as we packed up our boxes to move. Recorded in the summertime in Dalton Cabin. Duane hits the high notes. 4 beer bottles shattered during recording. Washed clean in the storms. 2.Single Clear Morning: Original scratch recording was lost in a theft in 2006, and completely forgotten. Bubbled back up into consciousness, intact, 7 years later during a 10 day fast. 3. Be My Sanatorium: A valentine? The last thing we recorded in Nashville. Worked this vocal arrangement up with Duane not long after we met. 4. Grapevine: Follow the yellow brick road. An ode to the big escape route north from Los Angeles. Used to be called the ridge route. Escape takes many forms. 5. Happy As A Lark: It’s what you wish it could feel like. Born in agony. Desperate hangover breakfast at El Cholo in Los Angeles. The guy in the table next to us asked in a loud voice to no one in particular, “Happy as a lark?” Duane shredding the whistle accompaniment. Still tough to get through the whole song without laughing. 6. Way Down: Where it’s safe? Dedicated to Fanny. 7. The Dynamo: We still don’t know what this is really about. 8. Hang Tough: Dedicated to Brian Bud. 9. The Cannibal’s New Best Friend: Written in the 90’s. Never able to put this one to bed until now. Celeste & Duane’s “Chomp Chomp” was the cherry on top. 10. Cicada Pt. 2: Still working on part 1. 11.Solace: Pleasant dreams.
