In the game of life there are victims and there are survivors. The latter can be used to describe the author and hip hop artist known as Willie Dutch. He turned tragedy into triumph and overcame overwhelming odds, proving that nothing, not even a 140-month federal prison sentence, could knock the hustle.

The Houston native was introduced to violence at a very young age when his mother was shot and killed by his father. By the time he reached his mid-teens he was already knee deep into the streets. His foray into the drug trade eventually led to his arrest. Ironically, it would take losing his freedom for him to find his true purpose and identity.

Using his time to his advantage he turned a minor setback into a major comeback. He went on to release a mixtape, which he recorded over the phone, and publish his first two novels. He has been featured in several major magazines for both his music and literature, as well as his many humanitarian efforts in and around his community.
