Rui dos Reis A native Portuguese, he started his music studies in Lisbon, aged six. He completed his studies at the Geneva Conservatory (Switzerland). In 1986 he was awarded the Portuguese Press Prize for the best orchestration of the year. He toured and recorded with Swiss flutist Ilan Horowitz, with Canadian soprano Natalie Choquette and Japanese soprano Tomoko Masur He composed the cantata "Meditatio XXl" dedicated to the victims of World War II, an incidental music to "Alice in Wonderland", a bilingual musical "S.O.S. Geneva" for the Geneva International School, music for jazz band and for piano. He also created a CD for Dr. Carl Simonton’s therapy for those suffering from cancer. In 2007, “The Sermon of Gaia” a contemporary poem sung in ancient Greek on the environmental impact of mankind had it’s World Premiere at the Cathedral of Lausanne. After 25 years of musical activities in Switzerland, he took up residence in the United States.
