Don Matta is a group of Musicians based in South Miami Dade County, specifically in the neighborhood of Kendall, formed originally in mid 2008 by Pedro Zanoguera (guitar and vocals) and Bryan Mello (guitar).Initially they played in Indian Hammock’s Park, outdoors and with limited resources. From these early times, they created many acoustic pieces. Towards the middle of 2009 Luis Munoz (trumpet) and Mike Romero (drummer) joined the band, In Mid 2011 Louie joins the band as a bass player. It is around this time where begin to play in a "warehouse" near TAMIAMI airport. At this time, they began to create more songs such as What the f**k I'm gonna do, everyone gets high, Cuarto de alquiler, It’s never gonna rain. The first performance was in the venue Tobacco Road in Downtown Miami. They also performed at venues such as Churchill's Pub and The Stage, in the Miami Art district. Their influences more notable range from grunge, with bands such as Alice in Chains, Nirvana or Pearl Jam, passing through the Red Hot Chili Peppers or Pixies, from Folk to Polka and from Punk to Hip-Hop. Also there are reminiscences of diverse groups ranging from GOGOL BORDELLO, Manu Chao through the Spaniards Estopa, Jarabe De Palo, or the most recent acclaimed by critics, MANEL.
