House on the Sea, Anna's third album, uses her characteristic personal storytelling style as a vessel for complex universal truths. Her songs, rooted in the nostalgic acoustic singer/songwriter sound, swim effortlessly through different genres, from the electric guitar grooves of "Wake Up" to the electronic-heartbeat mist of "Sky". Each disc on this double album explores human polarity based in Jungian and Ancient Chinese concepts of Self – the house as the structure of ego we build to protect our vulnerabilities; the sea, the greater Self within and outside of us, swirling in an ancient divine chaos. With poetic and and honest narratives that lead us through shadow and light, this double album is a diverse collage of sounds and stories that seeks to harmonize the two forces always present, and have compassion for all that we are.
