简介

1. Outside The Church Intro- Spoken word intro that features the trademark Slingshot feel. Definitely can hear some influence from Street Pastor in Young Church's cadence but he has his own lyrical approach. 2. Humble Up*- Young Church and Mr. Postell (on the hook) go to work on shutting down the "me first" views of the world. The track itself is pretty catchy and is anthem- ready. As far as Young Church's delivery goes, he is steady and stays on beat but a little more passion would go a long way in holding the listener. 3. Hunnit feat. J. Flue- a solid beat with a semi- screwed hook element to it, Young Church speaks on the necessity of being fully invested in the lifestyle demanded of a Christian. J. Flue makes a cameo on this track and the development in his flow is evident when put next to Young Church's. YC's flow often comes close to a monotone whereas J. Flue flips his cadence within the pockets of the track. 4. Weaken feat. K- Drama*- a classic K-Drama beat is the foundation for Young Church to build a strong song about the weakening world. In line with the rest of this project, YC focuses on the beauty of walking upright in the ways of the Father, in comparison to the downward spiral that this world is on. One of the stronger songs on this album. 5. Home*- the first thing that jumps out at me is the sample that brings the track in. I'm an old school soul appreciator so fitting that all intor the beat makes this a repeat- worthy song. Lyrically, YC focuses on the ever after that awaits beyond this world. Something about this track seems to showcase a more passionate delivery from him, creating a song that will connect with many. 6. Angels Freestyle- this is more freeform than the other songs preceding, as would fit with a song labeled as a freestyle. Young Church's flow and delivery feels as if its improving with each track, I also enjoyed the way he threw in a few good words of wisdom in between a few bars. 7. Stand Up*- Young Church issues a challenge to the members of the Body over a nice, bass heavy track. It's obvious this young dude's heart is on evangelism and he is not happy with sitting through services as a means to validate his faith. This is the type of song that will encourage first- time listeners of his to stay tuned for an album. 8. 911 feat. Ebony Deas & J-Martyr*- okay, I need to ask Young Church and the boys over at Slingshot one question....why no video for this song? The way this track started and continued caught me off guard as it is a bit more "pop" than any other I've heard so far. A different type of worship track matching a bit of autotune with Ebony's vocals, this is the best track on the mixtape. YC and J- Martyr brought some strong lyrics to this heated track. 9. Gangsta_Hustla feat. The Street Pastor- this is a unmistakeably Slingshot- styled track that teams YC up with the man known as Yaves. Both Ohio boys bring the unashamed truth to the ears of those who pose as something grittier than they are. The beat could be a love ir or Having Street on this track confirms the similarities I hear between the two yet, I say again, there's no question of the seperate identities of these artists. 10. Moving The Crowd- the track fits Young Church well, highlights his ability to stay on the subject at hand with a good array of solid rhymes. Its obvious that the intent of this song isn't to just move the crowd with the music at his disposal, but to be an example of someone moved by Christ. Another good track on this project. 11. Excuse Me feat. KamBINO- YC continues to push his agenda of being Christ- centered in spite of popular opinion, no regrets or apologies. Even with the lyrical arsonist KamBINO on board, this song is only mediocre because of the beat. This could be a better song but the track feels a little bit on the uninspired side. 12. Walking It feat. Trev-Eaz & Priest*- first off, being from Texas, I hear the beat and instantly feel the Htown vibe. With that said, the Ohio trio provides some solid bars about their intent to live out the Word of God, not just talk it. I dig the way Priest approached the song the most but overall this is a multi- listen. 13. Mr. President- I like the approach Church took in addressing the President, serious yet subdued. He definitely speaks to the president in a respectful way with the focus on intercession. Decent song overall, a heartfelt representation of 1 Timothy 2:1-2. 14. Lifetime- Young Church saves some of his best lines for his fiance on this impressive track. From the hook to each verse, its obvious that YC put some of his best work together in a motivated fashion. I wouldn't be surprised to hear about this being played at their wedding reception. There's always room for songs about godly love, both pre- and post- marriage. 15. Outside The Church Outro- bringing this introductory mixtape to a close, Young Church spits hard for the Lord's glory over a mellowed out, sample- laced track. YC takes the opportunity to restate the whole mission of his mission as well as this mixtape- to present Christ to those outside the church walls. (*= standout song)
