"My Jazz Story" is the debut CD release written and produced by the multi-talented keyboardist and music producer Terance Taggart. From Germantown Philadelphia, PA, Terance's life has revolved around live band performances, writing music and traveling around the globe. At the early age of 7 years old, Terance started taking private piano lessons with the neighborhood piano teacher. His aptitude to recite and play music became very apparent, so his parents enrolled him into the Philadelphia Settlement music school to study classical piano. During his teenage years, the fascination to play digital keyboards and program drum machines has contributed to his technological savvy song writing skills you hear today. Inspired by some of the most influential pianists and musicians on the Philadelphia music scene, his jazz improvisational skills excelled to a professional level. Terance is recognized as a distinguished multi-talented keyboardist, mostly due to his unique way of emulating piano, strings, guitars and syncopated horns. “My Jazz Story” was inspired by the many cultural experiences he encountered while traveling abroad. Terance has toured the world entertaining local and international audiences from cruise ships, clubs to lavish hotel venues in more than 14 countries. Terance sailed the seas on Walt Disney's Big Red Boat entertaining vacationers from Cape Canaveral Florida, Port Lucaya, Free Port to Nassau Bahamas. He also ventured across the pacific seas to entertain different ethnic audiences. Terance often remembers, "I felt like a star the first time I landed in Roppongi, Tokyo Japan. The atmosphere was full of radiant neon signs and a culture that I was not so familiar". In a short time, Terance had an apartment facing Tokyo Tower and was popular at the infamous Java Jive night club. In a few years, Terance landed a professional keyboardist gig as Keith Haines substitute keyboardist at the legendary Pickford Live Hall in the heart of Roppongi, Tokyo Japan. Terance humbly expresses, "I feel blessed to have traveled the world with my long time musician friends.
