简介
Erin Barra is the definition of a true artist. Misplaced in an industry that is treading water in a sea of mediocrity and image, Barra is bringing it back to the music. As the musical black sheep in a family of Scientists, Erin went from practicing piano in pull-ups to serenading rapt audiences on the main stage as a unique and formidable artist-songwriter. After attending The Berklee College of Music in Boston where she received her Bachelors Degree in Songwriting, Erin has had the opportunity to write and work with industry notables and Grammy award winning artists, engineers and producers such as Kathy Mattea, John Oates, George Massenburg, Elliot Scheiner and Howie Weinberg to name a few. With the recent release of her debut solo album, Soul Revolutions, Barra hopes to, "empower people to live in the moment, celebrate being alive and fulfill their hopes and dreams." The sound is a distinctive mix that has been described as one part R&B and two parts Pop with splashes of Reggae, Gospel, Funk and Soul. Her infectious melodies will leave you singing along for days, the groove will keep your body moving, and her heavy emphasis on lyric reminds your soul what it feels like to be living in the here and now. 'Waiting', a song Barra co-wrote with legendary songwriter John Oates of Hall & Oates tells the story of a waitress who waits tables while waiting for her dreams to come to fruition. The songstress hopes that, "everyone will find a piece of themselves in my songwriting. I wrote these songs as much for myself as I did for the rest of the world and I want people to feel as empowered listening to them a I did writing them."
