WALTA BLACKSON was born and raised in a family of six. Music became an everyday experience and he was constantly guided by parents and sunday school teachings. He was raised in a rural neigbourhood in the southern western slopes of a small town called TIKO in CAMEROON, AFRICA. Born to a family that was intergrated, naturally and lovingly inclined to music, without any musical experience or training, he was naturally endowed with the talent of and the love for music. Throughout his teenage days, he was groomed in the music world by his father who would often ask him to sing for visitors. In 1987, he met with one of his teachers in elementary School, St. Mary's Catholic School TIKO, CAMEROON, Mrs. PHILOMENA MUA who instilled the spirit of perserverance and recomended him for the school choir. By 1992, while attending secondary school at the then Government Secondary School TIKO, CAMEROON, he was admitted in the school choir. In the years that followed, he became a founding member of a division of the school choir that went Acapella, called "ECHOES OF ZION". This Gospel acapella musical group registered significant successes throughout the years up untill 1998 when the group dissolved. Between 1998 and 2002, he sang for another Gospel Acapella musical group called "GLORY DROPS". As a poineer member of this group, he contributed to the group's successes. He is now resident in the Washington DC area and is working with other artists for his next CD.
