简介

King Raj, the charismatic, multi-talented Chutney maestro, is the lead singer of the Supertones Band, a reputable NY-based Chutney-Soca orchestra that performs internationally, and has an enormous fan club. A relative neophyte in the Chutney-Soca genre, young Raj Singh catapulted into fame upon the release of his debut chutney music video “Caribbean Girls”, which so enthralled music lovers that they baptized him with the title “King Raj”. His caressing voice and inimitable style, uniquely carved out of his Guyanese-Trinidadian background, have enchanted large audiences on his concert tours in North America, Europe, and across the Caribbean. In 2008, he was a finalist in the highly competitive Indo-Caribbean Star Competition, held in Queens, NY. In Guyana during August 2011, King Raj, debuted in Nirvana Humanitarian Foundation musical drama “Visa Wedding”, which won him much acclaim for his acting skills. His versatility as an artiste was superbly expressed in Nirvana’s comedic “Holiday Laff Show”, staged in Queens, NK. King Raj, who holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, initially honed his musical skills singing bhajans (Indian ballads) and playing the dholak (percussion instrument) in temples in Jersey City at the tender age of 12. Raj credits his passion for music, and rise to fame to his loving parents. www.thekingraj.com ----------------------------------------------- THE SUPERTONES BAND: The “Red Hot” Supertones is back with a bang!!
