Taba Sko is an eclectic conflux of flamenco and electric guitars, jazz, Latin, and rock elements, skillfully packed in lively but sometimes boisterous arrangements.The 10 compositions portrayed on this album reflect the fusion of these styles and cultures, and resulted in a very unique style. Starting out with a cover of one of Coldplay's most successful songs, ‘Clocks’, Ke Kèso! morphs into a gypsy-swing-esk ‘Persona Non Grata’, flirts with the Brazilian samba on ‘Zomerkontjes’ and finishes the first part of the album with ‘Koffie Verkeerd’, a delicately balanced jazz cocktail of traditional jazz, Nu-Jazz and Electronic. نشاط المخ (Reflection) touches the core of Ke Kèso! and provides the gateway to Al Ghouti, a more contemporary arabesque track with strong cinematic qualities. For the title track Ke Kèso! we travel north to the Iberian Peninsula for some more modern rumba flamenco stylings. The sultry ‘Go’ segways into the AC realm, this time featuring electric guitar reminiscent of Santana and the likes. On ‘Ella’, the nylon string guitar carefully reclaims the spotlight on this jazzy rumba with some electronic accents, before handing it off to the tenor sax, which on the last track of the album ‘Honey Pot’ brings this musical journey to a funky end. Taba Sko delivers Latin-jazz with rhythmically vibrant soundscapes and eclectic patterns which will appeal to the die-hard aficionado and casual listener alike!
