This is the fourth release by Alutepena Hughes-John, a slightly more upbeat track in terms of tempo. Listeners of my previous material will no doubt guess by now that the majority of the songs are bittersweet and melancholic. I find these type of songs are much easier to write than the bog standard love song. 'Ain't that a Shame' reflects on personal experiences in trying to find someone who is, well, the one for the writer. The verses - especially the final one are what this writer frequently experiences. Don't know why...Hopefully listeners to this song will identify with some of the scenarios featured in the song.
